Business Minister Pays Tribute To Family Firms

At the start of the UK’s first Family Business Week, Business Minister Paul Scully MP has recorded a video message paying tribute to family firms.

In his message Mr Scully, the Minister for Small Business, Consumers and Labour Markets, recognised the role of family businesses ‘as the cornerstone of local community right the way across the UK’. He went on to say ‘It’s crucial to use this opportunity to shine a light on the importance of these values-driven, diverse businesses and their rich contribution to the economy’.

Mr Scully also celebrated the achievements of the IFB in its 20th anniversary year, and acknowledged their role in championing the family business sector.

Running from Monday 22 – Friday 26 November, Family Business Week will celebrate family businesses across the length and breadth of the UK, and focusing on the role of business as a force for good. The week is led by the Institute for Family Business (IFB) and supported by NatWest.
